ST CYRIL & METHODIUS EVANGELISM & COMMUNITY SERVICE MINISTRY
This ministry is chaired by Popadia Kathleen Biernacki. Our church is currently involved in a number of projects related to evangelism & community service.
All Saints Food Pantry
Our church collects various food and hygine items on a monthly basis for the food pantry which is located at All Saints Catholic Church in Rossford, OH. For the month of January we are collecting canned soup in whatever quantities one can afford to donate. Please bring all donations to St. George.
IOCC Hygiene Kit Report
Between 12/18, and 12/26, exactly 100 hygiene kits were assembled to be donated to the International Orthodox Christian Charities for distribution. Thanks to all played a part in making this happen; those who donated items, and to those who assembled. Great job everyone. The kits will shipped out the first week in January.
Monroe Neighborhood Center
This agency runs two programs to provide clothing for men and women who are working, looking for work, and lack the appropriate dress attire for the job. The men's program is called Dress Right and the women's is called Suitable Attire. We are now collecting the following business attire for these two programs:
Dress Right for Men: Suits, Pants, Shirts, Ties, Shoes, Casual attire, Socks, (no jeans or sneakers)
Suitable Attire for Women: Dresses, Pant suits, Blouses, Purses, Jewelry, Casual attire (no jeans or sneakers)
If you have anything at home from this above list that you don't need and would like to donate, please bring those items to the church here in Rossford. We will deliver them to the Neighborhood Center. We will be given special donation forms that we can give to you if you want to claim any of these donations on your yearly tax return.
College Student Gas Fund
The last Sunday of each month we take up a collection at the end of liturgy for students going to college that need help with gas. We buy gas cards based on what we collect and distribute them as needed. We have resumed the practice of taking up a monthly collection up until next April 2012. Thanks to all who have been so generous in their support of this need.
